Visit to White Lodge Museum, Richmond Park.

We are delighted to have secured a visit for London Ballet Circle members to the White Lodge Museum and Ballet Resource Centre, housed within the home of The Royal Ballet Lower School, a magnificent listed building set in beautiful Richmond Park.  This is the first ballet museum in the UK and has some wonderful treasures, including the death mask of Anna Pavlova and a ballet shoe of Margot Fonteyn, among other items of great interest.  Anna Meadmore, Curator of the Museum, has kindly agreed to give a talk to our members about the daily life of the School and its broader work and in introducing the many facets of Ninette de Valois’ life will also make particular reference to the recent 3-day conference, Ninette de Valois:  Adventurous Traditionalist.  There should be an opportunity for a brief question and answer session.  This is a much appreciated extra privilege.  It is anticipated that the visit will end between 4.00 and 4.30 pm.

Monday 5 December 2011

Visit to English National Ballet School

We are delighted to have been invited to watch a rehearsal of the ENBS Christmas performance of The Nutcracker which will take place between 2 to 4 pm.  The School has kindly asked us for 1.30 pm for tea or coffee and those of us who have attended similar rehearsals greatly appreciate the hospitality of the staff as well as the quality of the students’ performance.

If you wish to take part in this visit please send your cheque, made payable to The London Ballet Circle, to Audrey Allen, 8 Goldsmith Road, London, N11 3 JP (Email:  audrey.allen035@btinternet.com), tel:  020 8361 2872).  Acknowledgement and confirmation of your place will be made by Email where appropriate, but if you require a written receipt please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
