For just £8.00 a year (or just £2.50 if you are lucky enough to aged under 25) membership is terrific value. You will get a regular newsletter plus discounts and preferred booking at all our events.

Benefits of membership include:

  • Talks by dancers, choreographers, artistic directors and critics. Learn more about leading figures in the dance world as they talk about their life, work and their ambitions. You'll get the chance to meet the artists in person and put your questions to them direct.

  • Reports on talks Can't get to a talk in person? Don't worry. We aim to report on each talk.

  • Visits to ballet schools. See the stars of the future in class and rehearsal, being coached by internationally famous teachers. Why not join us as we regularly visit the Royal Ballet Upper School, English National Ballet School, Tring School for the Performing Arts, the Central School of Ballet and the Yorkshire Ballet Summer School. Places are often limited but as a member you will have advanced standing in the booking process. Please see events.

  • Parties. We arrange an annual party hosted by our President, Sir Peter Wright. Come to meet him, our Vice Presidents and leading members of the dance community and fellow dance enthusiasts. We also celebrate special anniversaries. Don't worry about coming on your own - you'll make lots of new friends through your interest in dance.

  • Newsletters. We'll email or post to you a regular newsletter which will update you on the events we are planning, plus news and reviews by members for members.

  • Alert service. Sometimes we get surprise opportunities to meet visiting artists but because of their hectic programmes, we don't get much advance notice. Top tip: Give us your email address to make sure you don't miss out on these very special opportunities. No email at home? Then make a friend of someone, perhaps another LBC member, with an email address through which we can contact you!

  • Help provide support to the stars of the future. Your subscription and any voluntary donations, together with the proceeds from our events, helps LBC provide financial support to student dancers nominated by the principal of their school. As a UK Registered Charity, LBC is entitled to reclaim Gift Aid. Please help us to help more students by downloading the Gift Aid form

    We also encourage members to consider using easyfundraising.org.uk for their normal, everyday purchases online and nominating LBC as their favourite charity.
